The Farewells

After an extremely successful tournament, the event finished with a lovely evening at Roehampton. The sun shone for Pimms in the garden and everyone shed their tennis whites for suits and 'posh frocks'. A delicious buffet meal was enjoyed and the winners were announced. The Italians took the cup back to Italy once more but all agreed that they their youth and enthusiasm made them worthy winners.

Speeches and presentations followed and the Italians invited all to join them in 2009 for the next tournament in Italy. Lively dancing (and some singing in English and Italian) drew the event to a close.

Thank you to everyone for coming to England and for making the event so successful. We all look forward to meeting again in two years' time.

Final Results

After 60 hard fought matches on the beautiful grass courts of Roehampton Tennis Club, the Italians were worthy winners and took the cup back home with them. Final results were:

• Italy - 8 points


• England - 5 points
• Hungary - 4 points


• Ireland - 3 points
• Germany - 0 points
